CANDIDATES PROFILE

Mine engineers, geologists, reservoir engineers, geophysicists.

Professional experience and mathematical practice are required.


TEACHING PROGRAM - French sessions : 2011 ; 2013 - English sessions : 2012 ; 2014

1st term

- Introduction (2 weeks)


- Linear geostatistics (4 weeks)
Exploratory date analysis ; Global estimation of in-situ resources ; Local estimation ; Design of borehole surveys ; Design of homogenisation stockpiles ; Computation of confidence intervals ; Resources classification


- Computer application on mining data (2 weeks)


- Multivariate geostatistics (2 weeks)
Estimation of polymetallic orebodies; Use of ancillary information

2nd term

- Sampling and other workshops (3 days each)

- Mathematics (1 week)

- Non-stationnary geostatistics (1 week) : Dipping layers; Global and local tends

- Non-linear geostatistics (2 weeks)
Support effect ; Estimation of recoverable reserves

- Simulations (3 weeks)
Visualization of small scale variability ; Digital orebody models

3rd term

Student project (12 weeks)

DIPLOMA

Students who have followed the whole course receive a CESMAT certificate.

Successful students are awarded a national French diploma in geostatistics conferred by Mines ParisTech and the Ministry in charge of mines.
